We loved staying in a neighborhood apartment while we visited Rome. We really felt like local residents when we strolled to our door and entered our own space with Roman neighbors rather than tourists in a lobby. Take a peek into where we called home for our quick getaway!
Our apartment was down a narrow cobblestone side street. There were small cafes and trattorias sprinkled along our winding block.
The entrance was through a locked door which led to a small lobby and a staircase. Our apartment was up on the third floor and there was no elevator. We needed the exercise after all the food we ate in Rome!
There were antique details; the stairs had arched ceilings and the entrance from the kitchen to the bedroom was this Roman stone arch.
The bedroom area was fresh and white and very comfortable.
The studio was not large, but it was the perfect size for us two! What particularly impressed me were the details. The owner’s own photos decorated the space.
Built-in shelves had books and magazines available for us. They also included an iPod dock in addition to the flat screen television.
Lots of useful items were available to us in the kitchen, arranged neatly on built-in shelves. The full kitchen also had various small appliances and the unit even had a washer and dryer for our exclusive use.
I loved the bright and comfortable sitting area. Our host kindly included several guidebooks for our use along with some personal recommendations and a collection of other tourism information. Who says you need a hotel concierge to make dinner plans?
We loved staying in our apartment. Special thanks to Roomorama for inviting us.
Would you stay in an apartment on your travels?

luv 2 see all these places one day.
Hopefully you’ll get there!
I really love the arch you had in your apartment. I lived in Rome for an entire summer and could not get enough of the city. Nice tour, thank you!

Came across your blog a little big ago and saw you tweeted this post. Love your blog!
I think staying in an apartment is ideal, in my opinion. That way you don’t have to eat out as much and you can explore markets and prepare food with local ingredients. It gives you more of a feel for a place and more freedom. I stayed in an apartment for a week in Paris and loved it! This apartment looks super cute!
